Victoria: 1.4% to $25,000; $350 + 2.4% to $130,000; $2,870 + 6% to $960,000; 5.5% of the whole value to $2 million; $110,000 + 6.5% above $2 million. Homes you will live in that cost up to $550,000 get lower principal place of residence rates. Queensland: $1.50 per $100 from $5,000 to $75,000; $1,050 + $3.50 to $540,000; $17,325 + $4.50 to $1,000,000; $38,025 + $5.75 above. Homes you will live in get the lower home concession rate.

Eligible first home buyers in NSW pay no transfer duty on homes up to $800,000, and a reduced amount on homes between $800,000 and $1,000,000.
What is the first home buyer exemption in Victoria?
First home buyers in Victoria pay no duty on homes up to $600,000 and get a sliding concession up to $750,000.
Is there stamp duty for first home buyers in Queensland?
Since 1 May 2025, first home buyers of a new home or vacant land to build on pay no transfer duty, with no price cap. For an established first home, the first home concession gives full relief up to $709,999 and partial relief up to $800,000.
How much extra do foreign buyers pay?
Foreign buyers of residential property pay an additional surcharge: 9% in NSW and 8% in Victoria and Queensland, on top of normal duty.
