How SBI calculates your EMI
EMI = P × r × (1 + r)n ÷ ((1 + r)n − 1), where P is the loan amount, r is the monthly interest rate (annual rate ÷ 12 ÷ 100) and n is the number of monthly instalments. For example, a ₹30 lakh SBI home loan at 7.25% for 20 years has an EMI of about ₹23,711. Early EMIs are mostly interest, and the principal part grows every month.
About State Bank of India
State Bank of India is a public sector bank headquartered in Mumbai. As a public sector bank, it links most home loans to an external benchmark such as the RBI repo rate, so your EMI can change when the RBI changes rates.
Before you apply, see the SBI CIBIL score requirement, check how much loan you may be eligible for and make sure your total EMIs fit your income with the FOIR calculator.
